After the high-profile robbery in October, when nine precious jewels were stolen from the Louvre in Paris, the museum announced the start of an open tender for security enhancement work. This was reported by RIA Novosti, citing the relevant document.

According to the tender conditions, the contractor will be required to implement works aimed at ensuring the museum's security as part of an overall plan that has already been approved.

Applications for participation in the tender are accepted until December 3 of the current year, and the total duration of the contract will be 7.5 years. The work is planned to be carried out in six phases, with funding provided from the Louvre's budget.

The documentation does not specify either the budget size of the tender or the specific types of work that will be performed.

The museum's director, Laurence de Car, previously reported the implementation of a master plan for enhancing security, which includes numerous measures, including improvements to the video surveillance system, which she characterized as the museum's most vulnerable point.

Recall that on October 19, criminals managed to break into the Louvre and steal nine pieces of jewelry, including tiaras, earrings, necklaces, and brooches belonging to French royalty. One of the stolen items was the damaged crown of Empress Eugenie de Montijo, which was later found and returned to the museum. The total damage from the robbery is estimated at 88 million euros.

French Culture Minister Rachida Dati commented on the incident, promising that necessary measures would be taken by the end of the year to prevent the recurrence of such situations.
