On Tuesday, French police specializing in the fight against organized crime detained a fourth, likely the last, suspect in the robbery of the famous Louvre Museum, as reported by Le Figaro.

The detained individual is in custody at the Paris criminal police on suspicion of involvement in an "organized criminal group" and "criminal conspiracy," according to information from sources close to the investigation.

It is noted that the robbery occurred on October 19. Four criminals used a cherry picker, parking it against the museum wall, which allowed two of them to climb to the Apollo Gallery, break a window, and enter the hall where they opened two display cases containing jewelry.

The first two suspects, who are around thirty years old and live in the Paris suburb of Aubervilliers, were arrested at the end of October and have already been charged. The third gang member was detained in early November and has also been placed in custody.

During the robbery, nine pieces of 19th-century jewelry were stolen, including the crown of Empress Eugénie, which the criminals dropped and damaged during their escape (the crown was subsequently found).

Among the stolen items is also a necklace made of emeralds and diamonds, gifted by Napoleon to Empress Marie-Louise, a diadem that belonged to Empress Eugénie and adorned with nearly 2,000 diamonds, as well as a necklace that once belonged to the last Queen of France, Marie Amélie, featuring 8 sapphires and 631 diamonds.
