According to law enforcement agencies, the incident occurred on the night of December 15 in the village of Koi-Tash, where traffic police officers from the Chui region stopped Orozov's vehicle, suspecting him of operating the vehicle while intoxicated.
During a medical examination, alcohol was found in the minister's system. In a video, he claims that he only drank two mugs of beer.

Bakhtiyar Orozov was appointed as the Minister of Science, Higher Education, and Innovations in May of this year. Previously, he served as the First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan and also worked as the Deputy Minister of Justice.
