Today, significant snow fell for the first time this winter season in the At-Bashinsky district. With the arrival of the snow cover, winter has begun to show its characteristic features throughout the region.

Maksat Kadyrculov, the deputy head of the At-Bashinsky district, shared current information about the situation in the Ak-Sai valley.

He noted that currently, in most areas of the valley, the snow depth ranges from 3 to 5 cm, as not much precipitation has fallen. However, in the eastern part of the valley, the snow cover reaches 20 cm. Roads remain open, transportation is functioning, and the situation is stable.

Additionally, at this time, there are 111 families registered in the Ak-Sai valley, and life in this area continues at its usual pace.
The Ak-Sai valley, located in the At-Bashinsky district of the Naryn region, is considered the "pole of cold" in Kyrgyzstan. Here, temperatures can drop to –30°C in the lowlands and to –45°C in the mountainous areas (reaching a maximum of –54°C in the intermountain depression of Ak-Sai), while temperature peaks can reach +30°C in the valley and +20°C in the mountains.

The lowest temperature in the country has also been recorded here — –56.3 °C.
