In the Naryn region, in the heart of the At-Bashinsky valley, lies the mountain "Chech-Döbö," which attracts many visitors.

Its history interests many.

A history teacher from the At-Bashinsky district, Murat Esengulov, shared information that on this mountain there is a historical and archaeological site — a "mazar."

“The Mazar Chech-Döbö is considered a sacred place where people come to pray. Since the 19th century, our ancestors believed that people with problems, such as infertility or illnesses, come here. They brought sacrifices and prayed at this site, which is located near water,” he said.

Esengulov noted that he was intrigued by the question of how the mountain appeared among the plains. He tried to gather legends and myths from local residents but found only one.

According to this legend, Almambet batyr was buried on the mountain. The epic "Manas" mentions that he wished to be buried where his horse would lead him. Ultimately, during the battle, Almambet and his faithful steed named Aisarala received fatal wounds. The horse brought its owner’s body to the mountain Chech-Döbö, where he was buried along with it,” he added.

M. Esengulov also noted that over time, presidential candidates and deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh have come to the mountain to pray and make sacrifices, hoping to receive "bata" (blessing) from the people.
