The Deputy Minister of Culture, Information and Youth Policy Marat Tagaev expressed his opinion on the recently restored mosaic "Ayalzat," drawing parallels with the building "Aychurok" being constructed next to the Central Department Store (CDS). He did not overlook the negative aspects of the latter object, noting its shortcomings.

Currently, the building being constructed next to the CDS is planned to be used as an underground shopping complex called Old Bishkek. Initially, the project included two floors, but during the construction process, a third floor was added, which caused dissatisfaction among the authorities, including the head of the State National Security Committee Kamchybek Tashiev, who insisted on the dismantling of the extra floor to bring the object in line with the approved plan. Construction work on demolishing the third floor is currently ongoing.

The mosaic "Ayalzat," created by artist Theodor Herzen, is located in the "Aiperi" building at the intersection of Chuy Avenue and Isanova Street. This author is also known for his illustrations for the epic "Manas."

According to Marat Tagaev, the building was acquired by a foreign investor who carried out a major renovation and partial restoration.

“This foreign company could have completely hidden the mosaic by installing an LED screen in front of it, as is done in some places. However, they showed respect for our culture and left the mosaic fragment in its full size, recognizing its artistic value. I would like to emphasize that they could have simply destroyed this mosaic, and no one would have objected, as some monuments of art are indeed disappearing in our country,” noted the deputy minister.

He also mentioned that the exterior of the building has been fully restored. “Although they could have demolished it too, creating something entirely different. They could have even installed their 'boxes' on the sidewalk, as some unscrupulous businessmen do,” he added.

The deputy head of the Ministry of Culture urged Kyrgyz businessmen and civil servants to preserve historical and cultural buildings, using the example of the mosaic "Ayalzat," and to carry out their restoration to improve their appearance.

“Yesterday, passing by the CDS, I felt deep disappointment. The road is fine, but on this picturesque spot from our childhood, a three-story building has been erected that embodies lawlessness and chaos. This is very sad, and in the future, this building should disappear so that flowers can grow in its place, people can walk, and young people can relax,” Tagaev stated.
