During the discussion of the general plan, she reminded everyone about the status of "Protected Zone No. 1" for green areas in the center of Bishkek and asked how this status would be changed in the new general plan — whether it would be narrowed or expanded. As an example, she pointed to the construction taking place on the site of the mentioned flowerbed.
In response, Vice Mayor Azamat Kadyrov stated that this construction has all the necessary permits.
"Currently, as you know, the construction of the first underground pedestrian crossing from Shopokov Street to Abdrakhmanov Street is underway. This project was planned and has passed all the necessary procedures," Kadyrov noted.
It should be reminded that a large underground infrastructure facility, Old Bishkek, is also being built on Chuy Avenue, from Abdrakhmanov Street to Shopokov Street.
