The Ministry of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic has made an official statement that the installed fencing and tent are temporary measures necessary to protect the site during restoration.
“These structures ensure the safety of the ongoing work. The area is fenced off to protect the monument from livestock, and the temporary tent is intended to shield against precipitation and create comfortable working conditions for specialists. All installed structures are temporary and will be removed after the restoration is completed,” the Ministry of Culture emphasizes in its statement.
The press service of the ministry also reported that the architectural monument "Tash-Rabat" has become vulnerable to destruction due to the impact of natural and anthropogenic factors. In 2025, a tender for restoration was held, which was won by the company OJSC "Yug-Stroyservice." The work is being carried out as part of the state program "Secrets of Ancient History."
The restoration process is being conducted in compliance with the Law "On the Protection and Use of Historical and Cultural Heritage" and meets international scientific standards. A special scientific project has been developed by the research institute "Kyrgyzrestoration." Scientific consultations and field studies have been conducted with the participation of both local and foreign specialists.
“All work is carried out on a scientific basis. Each stage is based on the conclusions of experts, laboratory studies, and historical data. The main goal of the restoration is to preserve the authentic historical appearance of Tash-Rabat without making changes or causing damage to its structure,” notes the press service.
The Ministry of Culture calls for caution in spreading information and is ready to consider any scientifically substantiated proposals from citizens or specialists.
It should be noted that the last major restoration of Tash-Rabat was carried out in the 1970s and 1980s.
