According to the department, this architectural monument is facing the threat of destruction caused by both natural and anthropogenic factors. In this regard, a tender for restoration was announced in 2025, with the winner being the JSC "Yug-Stroyservice." The specified work is being carried out as part of the state program "Kөөнө тарых сырлары." The restoration is being conducted in accordance with the law "On the Protection and Use of Historical and Cultural Heritage" and international standards, as emphasized by the Ministry of Culture.
A special scientific project has been developed by the Research Institute "Kyrgyzrestoration." With the involvement of both local and foreign specialists, scientific consultations and field studies have been conducted, according to the ministry's report.
According to the department, the fencing and temporary roof are protective measures necessary for carrying out restoration work.
These measures include:
- protecting the monument from livestock with installed fencing;
- reducing damage from rain and creating a safe working environment for specialists through a temporary roof.
These structures are temporary and will be removed after the completion of all restoration work. All actions are carried out on a scientific basis: each stage is based on expert conclusions, laboratory studies, and historical data, as noted by the Ministry of Culture.
The main goal of the restoration is to preserve the historical appearance of Tash-Rabat, rather than to change or damage it.
The ministry urges citizens to be accurate in disseminating information. If specialists or local residents have scientifically substantiated proposals, the department is open to discussing them.
Previously, in the 1970s and 1980s, a large-scale restoration of Tash-Rabat was conducted. The current work is aimed at preserving its historical significance and value for future generations, the Ministry of Culture stated.
