The program is well thought out, teachers are being trained. Ministry of Education on the transition to a 12-year system.
According to the information from the department, the curricula are developed with a focus on the psychology and physiology of children. “The learning process is based on the principle of gradual progression: from simple to complex. In the first grade, the main form of activity is play, which allows children to learn in a comfortable environment. The second-grade program takes into account that children have undergone preparation under the 'Narisete' project and fully meets the requirements for seven-year-old students. This is done to avoid overload,” the ministry noted.
As for teacher training, it is carried out on an ongoing basis. According to officials, teacher training takes place at various times of the year: in summer, autumn, and throughout the academic year. The Ministry of Education, along with the Kyrgyz Academy of Education and the Republican Institute for Advanced Training of Pedagogical Workers, organizes seminars, methodological support, and professional development courses. Within the framework of the transition, professional materials and instructions for teachers are provided.
“Providing schools with qualified teachers is the responsibility of the Ministry of Science, Higher Education, and Innovations. This work is ongoing. By collaborating with universities, the ministry is increasing enrollment in pedagogical specialties, improving training, and striving to adequately staff schools with teachers. This task is relevant not only for our country but for many others as well. We are confident that the transition to new programs and 12-year education will be accompanied by all necessary measures for the convenience of children, understanding of teachers, and peace of mind for parents. The ministry is open to dialogue and ready to answer any questions,” the Ministry of Education added.
Earlier on social media, parents of first-graders shared their concerns and difficulties related to the transition to the 12-year education system.
