The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Kyrgyzstan has announced the start of an inspection of wastewater treatment facilities across the country, according to information from the department's press service.

To effectively carry out this task, an interdepartmental working group has been formed.

The main goal of the inspection is to assess the condition of the treatment facilities, their efficiency, and the need for improvements. So far, the group has already visited treatment facilities in cities such as Shopokov, Kara-Balta, Kant, Tokmok, and Orlovka. Specialists analyzed the technical condition of the equipment, its wear and tear, compliance with environmental standards, and opportunities for modernization and increasing the productivity of the facilities.
The Department of Environmental Monitoring conducted sampling of wastewater before and after treatment to evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment facilities.
According to the results of the inspection, it was found that most treatment facilities require replacement of outdated equipment, modernization of treatment systems, and improvement of monitoring the quality of wastewater.
