The laboratory is accredited by the Kyrgyz Accreditation Center and complies with the following international standards:
- ISO/IEC 17025 (General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories);
- ISO/IEC 17020 (Requirements for the operation of various types of bodies performing inspection);
- ISO/IEC 17043 (Conformity assessment. General requirements for proficiency testing).
In March of this year, the laboratory updated its technical equipment by investing in modern expert-level equipment:
- The S6 JAGUAR wavelength dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometer, which provides high-precision and rapid assessment of material composition;
- The ELEMENTRAC CS-d analyzer for measuring carbon and sulfur content.
The functions of the laboratory cover various aspects of the industry:
- Analysis of mineral composition;
- Quality control of ores and concentrates;
- Assessment of the quality of geological exploration work;
- Conducting interlaboratory comparative tests (ILC).
“In addition to performing standard tasks, the laboratory specialists are actively engaged in scientific and methodological work: they develop new methodologies and certify them, as well as create unique standard samples for key deposits in the country,” the information from the Ministry of Natural Resources reports.
