It has been reported that the geomagnetic event has concluded, and it was the second strongest in the last five years, according to a message on the laboratory's Telegram channel.
Scientists noted that the geomagnetic indices at the moment, as is usually the case after powerful bursts, have "dropped to minimal values."
According to the laboratory, the storm lasted for 42 hours and became the most intense this year.
Within the current solar cycle, which is the 25th since observations began, three instances have been recorded where the storm levels reached G4.7 and above, as in this case. The strongest storm during this period was recorded at the highest level of G5.0 from May 10 to May 12, 2024. The concluded event ranked second, while the storm of October 10-11, 2024, which reached similar peak values but had a shorter duration, came in third.
