The message states: "This is the largest flare of the year! It continues to intensify!"
According to the laboratory's data, the current flare level is X5.1, making it the most significant event since October of last year.
It is also noted that in terms of radiation intensity, this flare exceeds all other events of the current year by three to five times, and in energy metrics — by 10 to 20 times.
Previously, on October 3, 2024, a stronger explosion occurred, but it happened at the edge of the Sun and did not affect the Earth. In contrast, the current explosion is observed in a region capable of impacting our planet.
It is expected that on November 12, the third powerful magnetic storm of the year will occur on Earth.
