Toktomyshev Sovetbek Zhaylobayevich

Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, laureate of the Lenin Komsomol Prize of the Kyrgyz SSR.

Born in 1943. Graduated from Novosibirsk State University in 1965.

Worked as the head of the Physics Department at the Frunze Polytechnic Institute, Vice-Rector of Kyrgyz State University, Rector of Kyrgyz National University, Minister of Education, Science, and Culture of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Currently, he works at Kyrgyz National University as the Director of the Research Center for Atmospheric Monitoring.

Specialist in the field of atmospheric physics. He is a leading scientist in the republic in the field of space research. He has developed technologies for the production of thin-film detectors, designs of original measuring sensors for rocket, balloon, and ground-based atmospheric physics research. He has made a significant contribution to the development and implementation of thin-film detectors in several organizations.

Awarded the Order of the "Badge of Honor" and the Honorary Certificate of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Under his supervision, 7 candidate dissertations have been defended.

Published more than 100 scientific works, including 2 monographs, and is the author of 1 invention.
