In the Zavkhan aimag, wastewater treatment facilities with a capacity of 3000 m³ of wastewater per day are now operational.
Recently, the installation of a biological treatment station was completed, which not only purifies wastewater by more than 90% but also processes sludge into fertilizers, tripling its capacity.
On September 21, 2022, a ceremony was held for the laying of the first stone of the new treatment facility in Uliastai as part of a loan agreement between the Governments of Mongolia and Poland.
Since their commissioning in 1980, the old treatment facilities have been unable to cope with the increased load, leading to serious sanitation and living conditions problems for local residents.
The launch of the new treatment facilities in Uliastai will allow for a threefold increase in their capacity, significantly improving the living conditions of the population and creating a healthier environment.
