A new wastewater treatment station has been put into operation in Uzgen
















In the Uzgen district, in the village of Kosh-Korgon, the official opening of a new wastewater treatment station took place, located in the Bak section of the Bash-Dobo ayil aimak.

Among those present at the event were the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers — Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic Bakyt Torobaev and the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Government in the Osh Region Elchibek Jantayev.

The station occupies an area of 4.71 hectares and includes an administrative building, as well as facilities for preliminary and biological treatment, equipped with the necessary equipment.

The construction of the complex began in 2024, and its total cost amounted to 2,502,634 euros, which were allocated in the following proportions:

1,752,261 euros — in the form of grants,

750,373 euros — in the form of loans.

The project was financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

At the first stage, the station will be able to treat up to 2,000 cubic meters of wastewater per day, which will serve about 10,000 to 13,000 residents.

With the launch of the new facility, seven public schools, seven kindergartens, apartment buildings, and various social institutions will be connected to the system.
