Sean Levy, the director of the new film Star Wars: Starfighter, shared an interesting fact in his interview with The New York Times: one of the scenes was shot by none other than Tom Cruise, as reported by Meduza.

In November 2025, the actor arrived on set by helicopter just to observe the process. At that moment, the team was working on a duel scene involving lightsabers, taking place in a pond. Levy jokingly suggested that Cruise try his hand behind the camera, and to everyone's surprise, he agreed.

Cruise, without hesitation, jumped into the pond and stood ankle-deep in muddy water, trying to find the best angle for filming. The director noted two things: first, Cruise demonstrated a professional approach to working behind the camera, and second, it seemed he ruined his expensive shoes in the process.

Audiences will be able to judge Cruise's skills as a cinematographer on May 28, 2027, when Star Wars: Starfighter premieres. The lead role in the film will be played by Ryan Gosling, with Amy Adams, Matt Smith, and Mia Goth also appearing on screen.
