Cultural figure and ethnographer Aydai Asangulova has passed away
On January 25, 2026, after a prolonged illness, Aydai Bektemir kyzy Asangulova — a well-known cultural figure of Kyrgyzstan, ethnographer, designer, and researcher of traditional costume — passed away at the age of 48. She was the founder of the public foundation "Kiyiz duyno".

Aydai Asangulova was a highly regarded expert in Kyrgyz national clothing and traditional crafts. She dedicated her life to the study and preservation of cultural heritage, focusing on felt art and ethnic style.

Under her leadership, the "Kiyiz duyno" foundation implemented numerous educational and cultural initiatives, participated in exhibitions and festivals, and conducted master classes.

The farewell ceremony and funeral (janaza) will take place on January 27 at 11:00 at the following address: Issyk-Kul region, Ton district, village of Kyzyl-Tuu.
