Deputies reviewed three versions of the anthem and assessed both the texts and the musical accompaniment; however, none of them met the quality requirements. As a result, the committee proposed to reject these projects and set a deadline for their revision.
Zulushiev added that the competition commission will continue its work, and the initiators will be able to present updated versions of the anthem after revision. The improvement period may range from three to six months, and the final decision on this matter will be made by the parliament.
Responding to a request regarding the necessity of replacing the anthem, the deputy stated that he believes there is no urgent need for its replacement. "If the new anthem is not adopted, the old one will remain in force. It will lose its validity only if a new one is approved. In my opinion, the current anthem is quite sufficient," emphasized Zulushiev.
He also noted that the committee's decision will be presented at a session of the Jogorku Kenesh, where deputies will be able to either support the rejection or propose their alternative options. The question of the final decision remains with the parliament.
