
The action of the film will unfold in the territory of the Kokand Khanate.
A film adaptation of the historical novel by Tölögan Kasymbekov, "Synan Kylch" ("Broken Sword"), is planned in Kyrgyzstan, as reported by the country's Ministry of Culture.
Currently, the project's budget is being approved, and the script will be developed by the renowned playwright Sultan Raev. Filming is set to begin at the end of 2026.
The plot of the work spans the years from 1801 to 1876 and takes place in the territory of the Kokand Khanate. The novel reflects the complex historical events related to the incorporation of the Kyrgyz into the Russian Empire and tells the story of the struggle for power, popular uprisings, and the fates of individuals intertwined with the fate of the entire nation.
