At a recent meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh Committee on Science, Education, and Culture, Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, Sports, and Youth Policy Marat Tagaev announced plans to produce a feature film titled "Sıngan Kılıç" ("Broken Sword"). This initiative arose in response to the call from deputies for the need to create major national films that reflect the cultural identity of the country.

According to Tagaev, the issue of producing such films remains relevant, and work is already underway on various projects. He reminded that the last significant film produced in the country was "Kurmandzhan Datka," which was released ten years ago. Now, the team is considering adapting the work of Tologon Kasymbekov as the basis for the new film "Sıngan Kılıç." Currently, the budget is being finalized, and the script will be written by playwright Sultan Raev. Filming is expected to begin by the end of 2026 or the beginning of 2027, the deputy minister added.

Additionally, this year, the creation of a documentary film is planned to commemorate the 35th anniversary of Kyrgyzstan's independence. However, as Tagaev noted, the number of documentary films produced about individual personalities will be significantly reduced. Previously, such projects were often initiated by government agencies to create films about jubilee figures reaching 70-80 years of age. Now, this practice will be changed, and the official stated an intention to decrease the number of such requests.
