On December 24, during a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev announced a significant increase in funding for sports in Kyrgyzstan by the end of 2025.

As part of the discussion on the republican budget, the parliament revealed that the allocated funds for the sports sector amounted to 2.5 billion soms. For comparison, in 2024 this amount was 2.2 billion soms, while in 2020, funding was only 800 million soms.

Kasymaliev also noted that in 2025, an initiative was implemented to increase coaches' salaries by 30%, which became an important step in supporting personnel in the field of physical culture and sports.

In addition, this year, active work continued on the development of sports infrastructure. In particular, the construction of the small sports arena "Zhashtyk," which is designed for 5,000 spectators and costs 1.3 billion soms, has begun. The construction of the "Bishkek-Arena" football stadium, which has a capacity of 51,000 spectators, also continued.

In Manas, a sports palace with 5,200 seats, costing 1 billion soms, was under construction throughout the year.

“All these initiatives were implemented during the reform of the management of the sports sector and the establishment of the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports, which allowed for a systematic approach to the development of both mass and professional sports in the country,” added Kasymaliev.
