In the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, there are plans to install mannequins of police officers near ATMs. This was announced on the air of "Birinchi Radio" by Rustam Sarybaev, the director of the Academy of Sustainable Development of the Union of Banks of Kyrgyzstan.

Sarybaev noted that many citizens continue to fall victim to telephone scammers who use fake websites, links, and advertisements to deceive people.

“Scammers pose as employees of banks, mobile companies, or law enforcement agencies, creating psychological pressure, intimidating, and promising easy profits,” he explained.

The director emphasized that real banks never ask for personal information such as PIN codes, CVV codes, or information from SMS via phone or messengers.

“If someone is pressuring you and speaking to you aggressively, it should always raise alarms. In collaboration with the Main Department for Combating Organized Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, we plan to install mannequins of police officers primarily in Bishkek, near ATMs. Scammers often lead people to ATMs, forcing them to withdraw money and pass it on. The mannequins will help people think and realize that they could become victims of fraud. We want to gradually increase the digital literacy of the population,” Sarybaev added.

Additionally, he mentioned that the installation of mannequins is a practice used in other countries.

100 locations in the capital have already been identified for the installation of mannequins, and there are plans to expand this initiative throughout the country, as statistics show that scammers are increasingly operating in the regions of Kyrgyzstan.
