The Opening of Kyrgyz Film Days Took Place in Astana

In Astana, a solemn ceremony was held to open the Days of Kyrgyz Cinema, organized by the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Kazakhstan in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Kudaybergen Bazarbaev, the Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan, emphasized that Kazakhstani viewers show a constant interest in Kyrgyz films, noting that in 2024 the film "Paradise at the Feet of Mothers" took first place in the box office in Kazakhstan.

Sabit Barlybaev, Deputy Chairman of the Culture Committee of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, spoke about the importance of cultural exchange and the high qualifications of Kyrgyz filmmakers.

The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, heads of diplomatic missions, members of the Kyrgyz diaspora, as well as students from Kyrgyzstan studying in Astana under an academic exchange program.

The opening film was "Kara, Kyzyl, Sary" by director Aktan Arym Kubat, which was shown in a packed hall and attracted significant attention from the audience. This event received extensive media coverage in Kazakhstan.

As part of the Days of Kyrgyz Cinema, the drama "Kachkyn" will also be screened on January 30.
