In an interview provided to Euronews, the Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Edil Baisalov, commented on the sanctions imposed by the European Union concerning Kyrgyz financial institutions, which are linked to suspicions of their interaction with Russia.

According to Baisalov, Kyrgyzstan maintains an active dialogue with the EU and individual European states. "We are certainly concerned about some misunderstandings. Russia is our main trading partner, and we have many labor migrants, which implies money transfers," he noted.

During his visit to Brussels, Baisalov proposed creating a notification mechanism for European companies regarding dual-use goods that may be purchased by Kyrgyz enterprises. However, he stated that the European side showed no interest in this initiative.

"Some of the sanctions indeed leave us puzzled," he added.

Baisalov emphasized that Kyrgyzstan intends to continue its interaction with the EU, explaining its position while focusing on pragmatic goals aimed at the country's development and internal affairs.
