Janibek Abirov called for a review of the wages for TOP and MOP
Deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh Janibek Abirov emphasized that, considering the planned salary increase for teachers, the workers of technical and junior support staff in schools are not receiving the attention they deserve.
In his speech, he reminded that on December 25, President Sadyr Japarov announced a forthcoming twofold increase in teachers' salaries starting in April. However, according to Abirov, representatives of TOP and MOP — technical and junior support staff, who play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness, safety, and the technical condition of schools, have already approached him.
The deputy provided data on salaries: in one of the capital's schools, workers such as technicians, security guards, janitors, and cafeteria staff receive only 8,448 soms with a coefficient of 1.20. The salary of a secretary is 8,800 soms, while that of a supply manager is 12,320 soms, whereas some workers may earn as little as 5,500 soms.
Abirov noted that considering current prices and the level of inflation, it is practically impossible to survive on an amount ranging from 8,000 to 8,500 soms in Bishkek.
He urged government agencies, if there is no planned salary increase for TOP and MOP in April, to at least reconsider the coefficients or consider the possibility of a separate increase for this category of workers.
It is worth noting that at one of the Jogorku Kenesh meetings, Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev spoke about the intention to primarily increase salaries for technical and junior support staff in 2026.
