Representatives of the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan held negotiations with the management of the Port of Karachi, resulting in an agreement to create specialized warehouse facilities for handling export-import cargo, as reported by Podrobno.uz.

During the meetings in Pakistan, the parties discussed the allocation of land plots and ready-made spaces for the establishment of Uzbek logistics terminals. These measures will allow local carriers to control the accumulation and distribution of goods at the seaport, eliminating the need for third-party operators.

Particular attention was paid to creating comfortable conditions for transit transportation and providing incentives to potential investors willing to finance the development of port infrastructure.

Confirmation of a large-scale transport route through Uzbekistan and Afghanistan was received at the highest level during negotiations between the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shahbaz Sharif.

The multimodal corridor project, which will connect Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, will provide connectivity for the CIS countries with the deep-water ports of Gwadar and Karachi. In this logistics chain, Uzbekistan will play the role of an important transit hub, allowing the countries of the region to access the Indian Ocean.
