
According to information presented at a press conference in Istanbul by the Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Turkey concluded the year 2025 with historically high results in the tourism sector.
He stated that the country was visited by 64 million foreign tourists, generating an income of 65 billion 231 million dollars — a record figure for Turkey.
The minister noted that the country confidently holds strong positions on the international tourism stage, ranking among the most popular destinations. The strategic goal for 2026 has been set to achieve 68 billion dollars in tourism revenue.
Ersoy added that the country's tourism sector has significantly broadened its horizons, moving away from traditional beach vacations. Turkey is actively developing areas such as cultural and religious tourism, ecotourism, archaeology, medical and thermal services, gastronomy, as well as congress and exhibition events, winter and cruise tourism.
Among the successful initiatives are the "Heritage for the Future" and "Night Museums" projects aimed at preserving and promoting cultural heritage.
There is also positive dynamics observed in the Kyrgyzstan market. In 2025, Turkey was visited by 199,280 citizens of Kyrgyzstan, which is an 8% increase compared to 2024. The agency noted that this growth confirms the steady interest of Kyrgyzstani people in Turkey as a popular tourist destination.
