In the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, a draft law is actively being discussed that proposes to establish administrative measures for insults on the internet and social media. According to the new proposal, fines could reach 5 million sums, or there may be detention for up to 10 days.

Deputy Alisher Kadirov commented: "Ignorance must be fought not only through education but also through punitive measures."

The draft law aims to introduce responsibility for the use of obscene language, offensive expressions, and other actions that violate public order and the peace of citizens online. Deputies emphasize the importance of this measure for maintaining public order and tranquility.

Deputy Khushvaqt Khaitov noted that the necessity for such measures has become evident due to the increase in cases of aggressive behavior and obscene remarks on social media, which is a conscious violation of public morality. He added that such actions contribute to the spread of immorality and aggressive sentiments, especially among the youth.
