Aibek Junushaliev: A road will be built around the local cemetery in Novopavlovka

At a meeting with the residents of MTU "Novopavlovka," Mayor Aibek Junushaliev discussed the situation surrounding the local cemetery and plans for the construction of a new road.

The planned section of the road through the cemetery contains 1,364 burials. The mayor noted that from 2021 to 2024, more than 50 illegal burials had been recorded here. He pointed out violations of sanitary norms, as the graves are located too close to each other and on the route of the future road.

The municipal authorities conducted consultations in advance with representatives of religious denominations. "We consulted with the bishop and the mufti, who confirmed the possibility of reburial in such cases," Junushaliev stated. He added that the city administration is acting within the framework of the law, which allows for the relocation of remains in the presence of sanitary violations.

The mayor expressed serious concern regarding the sanitary safety of the area. The use of heavy machinery near chaotically located graves could lead to damage and the emergence of infectious outbreaks.

To avoid negative consequences, the city authorities decided to build the road around the cemetery. However, for this, it is necessary to clear the area:

Currently, the authorities have suspended new burials in this section. Junushaliev acknowledged that there are no alternatives for a new cemetery in this area at the moment, so the municipality is actively searching for a new location for burials.

"There are no winners or losers here," the mayor concluded the meeting, emphasizing that the administration strives to find a balance between respecting the memory of the deceased and the development of urban infrastructure.
