At the National Center for the Protection of Motherhood and Childhood (NCPMC), specialized dental care has been organized for children with disabilities, as reported by the institution.

According to medical data, emergency surgical assistance is provided, which can be performed under sedation or anesthesia. A routing scheme for patients has also been developed.

The NCPMC has a maxillofacial surgery department consisting of 28 beds, where doctors also conduct outpatient consultations.

Every day, approximately 50-60 children seek emergency dental care.
According to statistics, over 27,000 children receive outpatient care annually, while about 1,200 children undergo inpatient treatment. Of these, 85 percent of hospitalized patients require surgical intervention, and doctors often face a shortage of time to attend to all patients.

“Special conditions are necessary for receiving children with disabilities. This includes special equipment, medical devices, and additional staff for their support. According to preliminary data, 2-3 children with disabilities visit the NCPMC daily. Treating one such patient takes about an hour. The doctors in the maxillofacial surgery department of the NCPMC have undergone training to work with children who have health issues at the Kyrgyz State Medical Institute for Retraining and Advanced Training,” the statement notes.

Earlier, deputy Zhyldyz Sadyrbaeva raised the issue of dental services for children with autism, Down syndrome, and cerebral palsy. “In fact, no child has received state assistance for dental problems. I still communicate with these mothers; treating one tooth costs 50,000 soms. Support is necessary,” she emphasized.
