The lack of knowledge among people can threaten the infrastructure of the capital just as much as careless construction.
Social networks are actively discussing that the burst heating main on 7 April Street in Bishkek was caused by "hot water." This information was provided by readers of Vesti.kg.
Some residents of the city suggest contacting the heating plant to request a reduction in water temperature to avoid similar incidents.
It should be noted that there are sanitary and technical standards that define the permissible water temperatures supplied to residential buildings. For heating systems, parameters are usually set in the range of 70–90 °C for supply and 50–70 °C for return flow. The temperature of hot water (HWS) at the tap should be between 60 °C and 75 °C. In regions where an open heating supply system is used, such as Bishkek, the temperature of hot water at heating points often reaches at least 57-60 °C. During severe frosts, this figure can vary depending on the outdoor temperature, reaching 85–150 °C, but most often it remains within 70–90 °C.
It is important to note that as a result of the accident, some houses in the southern neighborhoods were left without heating and hot water. The city administration reported that work to eliminate the damage is already underway.
