High-ranking officials of the country familiarized themselves with the construction process of key infrastructure facilities located on the approach to the "Manas" airport. The Western bus station and the new Osh market, being built near the village of Prigorodnoye, are planned to open in May of this year.

The visit to the construction sites was made by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev, the Mayor of Bishkek Aibek Junushaliev, and the Chief of Staff of the President Kanbek Tumanbaev.

Tumanbaev emphasized that both facilities must be ready for the SCO summit, which will be held in Bishkek in August 2026.

Construction of the new Osh market

Construction work is actively continuing on the territory of the new Osh market. This is one of the largest trading facilities in the region, and according to builders' forecasts, its opening will take place this year.

The head of the construction site, Talant Kerimkulov, reported that the market area is 155,000 square meters, of which 20,000 are allocated for warehouses and 50,000 for trading areas. The project also includes a green market with a canopy and an underground parking lot for 500 cars.

According to Kerimkulov, one of the most challenging stages of the work was solving problems with groundwater. However, this task was successfully resolved at an early stage of construction.

When we started, the water level was at two meters. During the earthworks, a double drainage system was installed, and poor soil was replaced. We used a drainage installation method borrowed from Azerbaijan.

He added that about 500 workers are employed in the construction of the new Osh market, and 20 to 30 units of machinery are used daily. The work is being carried out in stages while adhering to all technical standards.

Builders noted that all monolithic works in blocks No. 1–5 have been completed, and the installation of engineering communications is currently underway. The installation of metal structures in the green market area (block No. 6) is nearing completion, while roofing, monolithic, and engineering works are actively ongoing in sections No. 6–8, 10–11, and 15–20. In some sections, engineering networks are almost completely finished, and glazing and finishing work are ongoing. The main monolithic works for transitions and driveways have also been completed.
Three wells have been drilled on the site, and work on external and internal drainage is in the final stages.
However, the construction of water supply and sewage systems, as well as landscaping and road works, have not yet begun.

Builders are confident that the opening of the market this year will be an important step in the development of urban infrastructure, providing comfortable conditions for both entrepreneurs and buyers.

The future of the bus station: current work and plans

Work at the site of the new bus station does not stop for a minute. Construction of one of the largest infrastructure facilities in the city continues around the clock in two shifts.

The head of the construction site, Sultanbek Turganbaev, reported that construction work on the bus station began on February 12 of last year.
The total area of the bus station is about 30,000 square meters.
Turganbaev noted that a drainage system was provided for during the design stage, which eliminated potential problems with groundwater.

Currently, all monolithic works have been completed, and builders are focused on internal and engineering works. Electrical installation work is ongoing, water supply and sewage systems are being laid, and heating and ventilation systems are being installed. Fire alarm systems and interior partitions are also being installed, along with tile laying.
The majority of the work has been completed on the exterior of the building. The roofing is 80% ready, and the installation of panoramic windows, which will give the building a modern look, is ongoing.
The project is being implemented by OsOO "Kyrgyzstroyservice," and the contractor is OsOO "Kurulush kompani."

"The bus station will consist of nine blocks, five of which form the main building. The sixth and seventh blocks are intended for the platform, where passengers will board and alight. The eighth and ninth blocks will be the side 'wings' of the building, designed as canopies," explained the construction manager.

According to him, the new bus station will provide all necessary conditions for the comfort of passengers and city residents. There will be waiting rooms, a hotel, and food service points, and the adjacent area will have 50–60 parking spaces for scheduled buses.
