Bishkek General Plan 2050. A tram line is planned to connect the 12th microdistrict to the center and to Osh market

According to the General Plan for the development of Bishkek until 2050, the construction of a new tram line is planned in the capital. It will connect the 12th microdistrict with the city center and continue to Osh market, as reported by the city administration.

The tram construction will take place along Aaly Tokombaev Avenue, starting from the 12th microdistrict, and then along Kyiv Street to Osh market.

The city administration clarified that the sequence of project implementation and the choice of routes will be determined in the next stages of design, including the development of a feasibility study.

Additionally, residents of the city suggested considering the possibility of creating a tram line that would circle Bishkek.

In response, the municipality stated that the General Plan provides for tram routes based on the highest passenger flow, covering areas with high population density, which will ensure proper connectivity with the city center.

Thus, a circular tram line would not effectively serve passenger transportation, the city administration explained.
