The city administration noted that specific routes and the order of work for creating tram infrastructure will be determined in the next stages of design. These issues will also be addressed when creating the feasibility study for the construction of tram lines.
Authorities emphasize the importance of tram transport as one of the key components for improving public transport and reducing the load on the capital's road network.
According to the master plan, tram lines will be organized on dedicated lanes. This, combined with the use of high-capacity rolling stock, will allow for an increase in the tram's carrying capacity by up to three times compared to trolleybuses.
