Currently, a presentation of the Master Plan for the city's development until 2050 is taking place in Bishkek, accompanied by expert discussions. Professionals in the fields of urban planning, architecture, transportation, and ecology are participating in the discussion.

The Master Plan project serves as a strategic foundation for the long-term development of the city, aimed at strengthening Bishkek's position as a financial and logistics center of Central Asia, as well as diversifying the economy and creating a comfortable urban environment.

As Mayor Aibek Junushaliev reported, significant preparatory work was conducted before starting the project. In particular, meetings were held with government agencies, transportation flows were studied, and a contract was signed with a research institute from St. Petersburg to refine the concept. Previously, specialists from a Japanese company worked on the project.

“We have observed active interest from the residents. Various aspects of the Master Plan, such as transportation, ecology, and construction, were discussed on social media. It is important to consider the interests of the entire city,” the mayor noted.
The city hall received over 200 inquiries regarding the Master Plan and conducted more than 10,000 surveys among the capital's residents.
According to Junushaliev, the city hall is open to suggestions and active discussions. The goal of the current expert meeting is to address existing shortcomings in the Master Plan project. The mayor added that specialists from St. Petersburg did not work in Bishkek for long and mainly relied on materials prepared by the city hall.

It is worth noting that the Master Plan project was presented to the residents in early October. Public hearings on it are scheduled for December 24-25, 2025.

After all discussions are completed, the Master Plan project will be reviewed at a cabinet meeting.
