During the development of the new Master Plan for Bishkek, emphasis was placed on ecological protection, the organization of green spaces, and consideration of the wind rose. This was reported at a press conference by Irina Grishechkina, Deputy Director for Project Work at the Scientific Research Institute of Prospective Urban Development (Russia).

She emphasized that the main task in the field of ecology is the protection of rivers, which represent key "green ecological corridors." "The Alamidin and Ala-Archa rivers play an important role. 15-meter protective zones will be created along their banks," Grishechkina noted.

These protected zones are necessary not only for irrigation but also for maintaining coolness in the city. At the same time, the Alamidin River suffers from excessive development, which complicates access for citizens. Authorities plan to create green plantings along the riverbanks and preserve existing parks.

According to the Master Plan, 40% of residential buildings will consist of low-rise structures. Special walking paths and landscape zones are also planned, where development of green areas will be excluded.

The plan includes the creation of large parks in the western, eastern, and southern parts of the city, with a special focus on the protection of Karagach Grove.

"According to the Master Plan, Karagach Grove will receive the status of a specially protected area," Irina Grishechkina added.

Moreover, the preservation of existing boulevards and parks will be a mandatory condition for the successful implementation of the new Master Plan.
