At a press conference dedicated to the new General Plan of Bishkek, Irina Grishchenkina, Deputy Director for Project Work at the Scientific Research Institute of Prospective Urban Development (Russia), emphasized the importance of the ecological aspect of this project. During the work on the General Plan, the focus was on preserving green areas and the ecology of the city.

According to Grishchenkina, one of the key tasks is the protection of rivers, which serve as "green ecological corridors." She noted that the Alamidin and Ala-Archa rivers play a significant role, and 15-meter water protection zones are planned for them.

These zones are not only necessary for irrigation but also contribute to maintaining a cool climate in the city. Currently, the Alamidin River is facing the problem of construction, which limits access to it for local residents. Authorities plan to create green plantings along the riverbanks and preserve existing parks.

According to the General Plan, 40% of residential construction should be low-rise, and special zones for green corridors have also been developed. It is important that the development of green areas is excluded.

The project also includes the creation of large parks in the western, eastern, and southern parts of the capital, with particular attention to the Karagach Grove.

"The Karagach Grove will become a specially protected area," added Irina Grishchenkina, emphasizing the significance of this decision.

Preserving existing boulevards and parks is a crucial condition for the successful implementation of the new General Plan.
