The mayor's office of the capital of Kyrgyzstan has announced plans to install new sanitary facilities in four districts of the city. Deputy Mayor Ramiz Aliyev chaired a meeting dedicated to the modernization of the public toilet network, during which authorities urged residents to actively participate in creating a comfortable urban environment, the press service reports.
When selecting locations for the installation of toilets, data from pedestrian and traffic flow analyses, as well as the results of surveys of local residents, were taken into account.
As part of this project, 26 potential locations for public toilets have been identified in four districts of the capital:
- Shopokov Street, near the "Snail" structure;
- Madina Market, 7 April Street — Mambetov Street, under the bridge;
- Jibek Jolu Avenue — Alma-Ata Street, "Alamedin" market;
- Ulan microdistrict: 7 April Street — Akhunbaev Street;
- Intersection of Ankara and Vinogradnaya Streets, ethnosquare;
- 6th microdistrict, Walnut Grove;
- Bezimennaia Street — Zhukejeva-Pudovkina Street;
- Abdrahmanov Street — Samanchin Street;
- Abdrahmanov Street — Mederov Street;
- Akhunbaev Street — Manas Avenue, Spar store;
- Chokmorov Street — Shevchenko Street (near the Department of Municipal Property Management and MP "Bishkekglavarkhitektura");
- Intersection of Altymyshov and Tynibekov Streets (near "Lux" square);
- Sadybaev Street, "Sakalduu Gül" park;
- Jaiyla Baatyr Street — Chortekov Street, boulevard to the 4th city hospital;
- Chortekov Street — Ayni Street, square next to the 4th city hospital;
- Ayni Street — Osmonov Street, new square;
- Murmanskaya Street — Abakanskaya Street, where a new square is being built (Department of Capital Construction of the Bishkek Mayor's Office);
- Intersection of Bakayev and Ayni Streets, Ostrovsky Street;
- Intersection of Toktogul Street — Erkindik Boulevard;
- Togolok Moldo Square;
- "Rossiya" Cinema;
- National Hospital;
- "Ala-Too" Cinema;
- Intersection of Gorky and Tynystanova Streets, "Vefa" shopping center;
- Intersection of Abdrahmanov and Kyiv Streets;
- Intersection of Profsoyuznaya and Lumumba Streets.
Special attention will be paid to creating accessible urban infrastructure for people with disabilities — all new toilets will comply with inclusive standards and principles of barrier-free environments.
