- At the discussion of the Bishkek General Plan until 2050, Irina Grishechkina, Deputy Director for Project Issues at the Institute of Urban Planning, reported that the total area of the city is 41,081.3 hectares, of which 31% is privately owned.

According to her data, 60% of the land is not yet registered in the unified state cadastre system, 5% belongs to the municipality, and 4% to the state.

“One of the main goals of the new general plan is to create a financial and logistics center, as well as to diversify the economy and ensure the economic security of the city. No less important will be the formation of a comfortable urban environment,” she noted.

As part of the economic development implementation, the expansion of urban and social infrastructure is planned, including the construction of new parks, squares, educational institutions, and medical centers. Special attention will be paid to the creation of public and business centers in various districts of the city to provide residents with access to services, transportation, and cultural and entertainment facilities.

According to forecasts, by 2050, the population of Bishkek will grow to 1.92 million people, and the total construction area will be about 26 million cubic meters.
