Irina Grishechkina, an architect from St. Petersburg and one of the authors of Bishkek's master plan, expressed dissatisfaction with the current development of the capital. She believes that the height of buildings should not exceed 12 stories.

According to her, this will lead to the loss of unique low-rise architectural objects. "We tried to preserve such buildings in the city center. I am against the construction of high-rise buildings within the city limits. Multi-story complexes are not needed in Bishkek; there is enough free land. Why ruin the city by creating additional congestion?" Grishechkina noted. She also added that there are places where the construction of high-rise buildings is allowed under special government programs, but overall, such projects should not be extended to the entire city.
