According to the latest data, the area of Bishkek is 41,081.3 hectares, of which almost thirty percent is privately owned. This information was presented by Irina Grishechkina, Deputy Director for Project Issues at the Institute of Future Urban Development from St. Petersburg, at a public discussion of the General Plan for the capital until 2050.

As part of the presented report, it was revealed that 31% of the city's territory belongs to private individuals, while 60% of the land is not yet registered in the unified state cadastral system. The municipality controls 5% of the land, and 4% belongs to the state.

Grishechkina emphasized that one of the main tasks of the new General Plan is to transform Bishkek into a financial and logistics center, as well as to ensure economic security and diversify the economy. The document also focuses on creating a comfortable urban environment.

As part of the economic development plan, the expansion of urban and social infrastructure is planned. In particular, this includes the construction of parks, squares, educational and medical institutions, as well as the development of public and business centers in various districts of the city. These zones, according to the project's authors, are intended to improve residents' access to services, public transport, and cultural and entertainment facilities.

The developers' forecasts indicate that by 2050, the population of Bishkek could reach 1.92 million people, and the volume of residential construction will be approximately 26 million cubic meters.
