In the past few years, the area of green spaces in Bishkek has decreased by 20%. This was reported by the developers of the new city master plan.

Irina Grishechkina, an architect from St. Petersburg and a member of the team working on the master plan, noted that the level of air pollution in Bishkek exceeds permissible norms by 3-5 times.

Comparing data from 2014 to 2021 shows that green zones in the city have significantly reduced.

Serious problems are also observed in the irrigation system:

Analysis shows that 95% of sanitary protection zones are occupied by residential buildings.
