During the expert meeting with the residents of the capital and the presentation of the General Plan for 2050, Chief Architect Irina Grishechkina noted that the population growth in Bishkek could lead to serious problems with engineering and technical networks.

“We should not move everyone to Bishkek; it is necessary to develop all regions of the country. In our General Plan, we anticipate that the population will reach 1 million 920 thousand people. If this number exceeds 2.5 million, the capital will struggle to cope with the burdens on infrastructure and roads,” the architect added.

It is worth reminding that the General Plan of the city serves as a strategic document for long-term development aimed at strengthening Bishkek's position, transforming the capital into a financial and logistics center of Central Asia, diversifying the economy, and creating a comfortable urban environment.
