According to information published in the Bangkok Post, Thailand is considering reducing the visa-free stay for citizens of 90 countries from 60 to 30 days.

The Ministry of Tourism and Sports assures that this decision will not negatively impact the tourism sector, as most foreign guests spend an average of less than a month in the country.

Nattaya Thavivong, the permanent secretary of the ministry, reported that a new committee established by the Prime Minister, led by the permanent secretary for foreign affairs, will review the visa regulations concerning 93 countries.

“This change should not affect the flow of tourists, as most foreigners stay in Thailand for no more than 21 days. If they need to extend their stay, they can do so through the established procedure,” she added.
