At a press conference at the Sputnik Kyrgyzstan center, Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations Azamat Mambetov shared the results of the agency's work for 2025 and discussed plans for 2026.
Since 2020, the Ministry of Emergency Situations has acquired about 670 units of new equipment worth over 3 billion soms, including approximately 200 modern fire trucks with increased water capacity. In the coming months, the arrival of more than 120 engineering vehicles is expected.
“The renewal of the fleet and the improvement of staff qualifications have allowed us to save 150 more lives compared to previous years. We are actively training our personnel,” noted the deputy minister.
He added that the agency is preparing for international certification under the auspices of the UN and plans to certify two search and rescue teams located in the north and south of the country.
Azamat Mambetov also mentioned that negotiations are currently underway to acquire two cargo-passenger helicopters from South Korea.
At the moment, the Ministry of Emergency Situations already has three helicopters, including a Mi-8, which is equipped with a water discharge device with a capacity of up to 5 tons. He added that the airfield in the village of Baytik is actively used for the rapid deployment of rescuers to various regions.
In addition, there are plans to build 20 new fire and rescue stations, which will significantly reduce response times to emergencies.
