In Bishkek, 36 schools are planned to be built in 2026

Including funding from the Saudi Development Fund

In the capital of Kyrgyzstan, 36 new schools are planned to be built in 2026. This decision aims to reduce the burden on existing educational institutions, which are currently overcrowded by 46,000 students.

According to information from the Bishkek city administration, 20 of these educational institutions will be financed from the state budget, 12 will be funded by the Saudi Development Fund, 1 school will be built with funds from the Russian government, and the financing for three educational institutions will come from the local budget.

Recently, the Jogorku Kenesh approved a loan agreement with the Saudi Development Fund for an amount of 50 million dollars (187.5 million Saudi riyals) for the construction and expansion of schools.

The loan will be issued for a term of 25 years with a grace period of five years and an annual interest rate of about 1.5%. These funds will be used for the construction of five new schools and seven additional buildings at existing institutions in Bishkek, as well as for the construction of two new schools in the Chui region. Each of the new educational institutions will be able to accommodate between 150 and 1,000 students, significantly improving the educational infrastructure of both the capital and its suburbs.
