
The main topic of discussion was the approval of the "green schools" concept during a round table on "Children, Youth, and Climate." Participants also addressed important issues related to creating educational systems that are resilient to climate change amid growing environmental challenges affecting the entire region.
Nadira Jusupekova shared information about the current state of reforms in the greening of education in Kyrgyzstan. She noted that the country is actively implementing measures for resource conservation, enhancing safety and climate resilience of school infrastructure, as well as integrating environmental topics into curricula.
According to her, there are about 120 climate-resilient schools operating in Kyrgyzstan, projects to improve energy efficiency are being implemented, building codes have been revised, and standards for "green schools" are being developed.
