
The agenda included the discussion of the concept of a regional platform for "green schools," which is planned to be approved at a high level during the round table "Children, Youth, and Climate." Participants also considered how to shape educational systems that are resilient to climate change in the face of growing environmental challenges in the region.
During the event, Jusupekova presented information on the current state of reforms in the field of greening education in Kyrgyzstan. She noted that the focus is on resource conservation, enhancing safety and climate resilience of educational infrastructure, as well as integrating environmental topics into curricula.
According to her, there are about 120 climate-resilient schools operating in the country, a number of projects aimed at improving energy efficiency are underway, building codes are being updated, and standards for "green schools" are being developed.
